About the Project

Memoria Polis is an ambitious collaboration with 5PM Studio to create a breathtaking announcement trailer for their historical city-building game. The project showcases a city's evolution spanning 2,500 years, from Antiquity to the Age of Enlightenment, all built and rendered in real-time using Unreal Engine 5.

Technical Challenge

Our team faced the unique challenge of creating an entire historically accurate city that could construct itself in real-time as the camera moves through different eras. This required developing custom systems for:

  • Procedural building construction animations
  • Historical accuracy in architectural styles across eras
  • Dynamic population system with period-accurate crowds
  • Real-time upscaling of building details
  • Seamless transitions between historical periods

Game Overview

Memoriapolis invites players to construct a city spanning 2,500 years of history. Players choose their culture, manage resources, face historical events, and build "Wonders" to achieve the status of Capital of Capitals. The trailer needed to capture this epic scope while maintaining historical authenticity.

Visual Development

The project required extensive research into historical architecture and city planning across multiple eras. Our team developed a unique visual language that accurately represents each historical period while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout the trailer.
